Zika Awareness

As questions come up about  the Zika virus, The Department of Health in Collier County (DOH-Collier), Collier Mosquito Control District (CMCD), City of Naples and Collier County Government (CCG) want to keep you informed. There has been 26 confirmed cases of travel-associated Zika Virus in Collier County. It is important to note that these cases no longer pose any public transmission risk, and there is no evidence of local transmission of the virus. The best way to prevent Zika virus is to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and prevent mosquito bites. Remember to “Drain and Cover” standing water, wear approved mosquito repellent, and wear long sleeves and long pants when outside.   Please watch the attached video for more information.   For more information, please visit the Florida Department of Health Zika information web page.
